In Michigan a local PetSmart had what many would consider to be a rather unusual pet visitor recently. Scott Lewis who runs a petting zoo took his camel, Jeffrey into the store. Jeffrey, who is 11 years old went on the trip as an outing to get him accustomed to traveling in the trailer that the Lewis Farms and Petting Zoo uses for transporting their animals. Scott was working to train Jeffrey, as he will be visiting a facility for some health checkups in the coming days. Jeffrey, who is said to be a very social people lover, visited a variety of local places in addition to the Petsmart store in Muskegon. All of Jeffrey’s traveling was documented by Scott on the zoo’s Facebook page. The Lewises did make sure to contact the pet store to ask permission before bringing Jeffrey the camel in for a visit, as the PetSmart website states it welcomes leashed pets of the domestic variety that does not usually include camels.
The adventure was a welcomed treat for all those who got to watch Jeffrey parade through the store, as customers and employees alike enjoyed the opportunity to meet him.
